Role & Responsibilities
- Work with the Head of Department in maintaining high academic standards within Physical Education.
- To ensure that students are supported in their learning journey through Upper School and set the highest aspirations for their student’s achievement and development, both in the classroom and through the many extra-curricular activities on offer
- Model and promote best practices in the teaching and learning of Physical Education
- Monitor and evaluate all aspects of the work of Physical Education and to respond appropriately to emergent issues, ensuring that students are supported in their learning journey
- To support the Subject Lead in the coordination of all Upper School sporting activities

- Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS
- Minimum two years teaching experience
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England (Plus IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as appropriate)
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
- A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
- Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, age and ethnic background
- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
- A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
- A clean International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or police check (for applicants who have never worked in UK) and no question regarding suitability to work with children

COVID-19 & China border updates
Borders in China reopened to foreigners in Summer 2020. However, with increased COVID-19 cases in Mainland China, the number of visas issued has decreased and schools are having great difficulty hiring outside of China. There are only a very limited number of schools who can obtain a PU letter and get a work visa. Contact us to see if you are applicable.
